HOW DID YOU FIRST GET INVOLVED IN THE COMP SCENE?
I was first exposed to the idea of freeride at a freestyle competition at hill-end. I had met Aaron McLean who introduced me to the idea after he had watched me finish my comp run with one ski on (needless to say I did not place). Before meeting him I had had absolutely no idea this branch of skiing even existed. It was amazing to discover that there was an entire area that encompasses everything I love about skiing: technicality, creativity, speed and send. It is skiing in its purest form and I am so grateful for what Aaron has brought me into.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT RIDING?
I play the guitar, bake, read books about maths, read other books, watch TV, indulge myself in many variations of pasta including pesto, dolmio tomato ect. I am currently in 6th year studying French, maths and physics and I’m heading to university to study physics in August. As well as ski-instructing I also coach gymnastics.
